Exploring the capital of Britain on foot
Exploring the capital of Britain by walking
During the following day, Maria and I got up early and spent enough time drinking tea and looking at the people from the terrace of our London holiday accommodation. The moment we were definitely dressed appropriately to go for a stroll, we headed directly to the Royal Mile in the Old Town and so we visited the London Castle and the Palace. Hilga has warned me that I need to wear flat and comfy shoes and therefore I could deal with the cobbled roads in the old town.

We’d a meal and a juice in the nearby Park on the eastern area and then went to the Arthur’s Seat and then towards the Cathedral St. Giles and the Scotch Whiskey Heritage Centre. After that we definitely needed refreshment and Tom suggested we must have a bite and some draught beer on one of the bars along the Royal Mile. Following the snack we had, we headed for some souvenir purchasing. After that we both agreed, it might be better to go back to our London accommodation and have some sleep. I watched TV, whilst Hilga checked out the email and made a study concerning the cafes and restaurants in the Scottish capital that were in close proximity to our vacation apartment.
Late in the mid-day we went out again and had a great long walk alongside the Princes Street, which signifies the heart and in a way sets apart the Scottish main city into an Old and a New Town. On the Princes Street we noticed some great department stores, and saw exactly where the Royal Scottish Academy and the National Gallery are and decided to visit them on one of the following days.
We had a quiet meal at Rick’s pub, that is a stylish club in the central part, serving food and beverages. We’d deep fried pizza, which we found out is a normal local recipe after which we went to bed early as we were quite worn out from the attractions and purchasing during the day.
