London’s Contemporary suburbs
London’s Contemporary spots
On the following morning, after an extended and great night’s sleep in the serviced London vacation apartment we have rented, we’d a breakfast and decided to explore the New Town, that as we saw on the map was set to the north direction from the Old Town and was actually bordering it.
Marta explained we now have a great deal to find out in that part of the Scottish capital and I agreed upon. The first monument to see was the Trafalgar Monument, which was made and set up for the memory of Trafalgar. Following that we enjoyed wonderful sights above the city and made some great photos. The following spot to go to was the National Gallery of Britain where we were able to see the best art collections in the country. There was no admission charge whatsoever, that was good and the same was valid for the Scottish National Portrait Gallery, that on the other hand we could not go to as it was shut for building work right up until November 2011.
Marta was starving, therefore we bought hot dogs and had some relaxation at the Princes Street Gardens, that is a tiny but nicely arranged recreation area set between the Princes Street and the Castle Hills.
In the afternoon we went up the Hill and then we went shopping along the Main Street, the George Street and the Broughton Street.
As that day was completely dedicated on the New Town, in the evening hours we went out of our London equipped apartment and we went to a pub we have spotted in the course of the day – The Living Room, where the menu was excellent and the visitors could enjoy not just the draught beer and the cocktails but also the show of the bartenders. Then we headed towards the Standing Order Pub and finished the night there.
